A Land Bug I, 2023

Information :

A Land Bug I transforms the human brain into the body of a bed bug, merging intelligence with the image of a persistent parasite. Just as bed bugs invade spaces of comfort and feed when we are most vulnerable, the work reflects on individuals and social forces that disturb stability, consume attention, and obstruct personal growth. By replacing the insect’s body with a brain, the drawing suggests that such disruption is not always accidental; it can be calculated, psychological, and distinctly human. The work uses humor and unease to examine how obstacles can emerge even within spaces we consider safe, turning comfort into vigilance and forcing us to continually negotiate the people and pressures that shape our progress.
