Secure or In-secure? I, 2023

Description :

Secure or In-secure? I transforms a padlock into a metaphor for the psychological contradictions of security, placing the human brain inside a lock that remains visibly open. The work questions whether security is something we actually possess or something the mind continuously attempts to construct. While the lock conventionally promises protection and control, the exposed brain suggests that anxiety, uncertainty, and overthinking can persist regardless of external safeguards. By leaving the lock open, the drawing complicates the boundary between protection and vulnerability, suggesting that the desire to secure ourselves can itself become a source of insecurity.
