The Culture Glass, 2019
Description :
Culture Glass brings together two familiar vessels associated with tea and coffee, using them as markers of different cultural habits and social environments. Although distinct in scale and form, the two cups are physically connected by a single rope, suggesting how cultures remain tied while retaining their differences. The work reflects on cultural translation and adaptation, particularly the experience of moving between different ways of living. Rather than asking one culture to replace another, the sculpture considers identity as something constructed through negotiation, connection, and the ability to carry multiple cultural experiences at once.
