Copy Cat reflects on imitation as an early way of constructing identity. A child attempts to inhabit the oversized shoes of his father, turning an ordinary childhood gesture into a metaphor for admiration, inheritance, and expectation. The impossible fit creates a subtle humor while revealing the distance between wanting to become someone and becoming oneself. The work considers how family influences the identities we initially try to occupy before developing our own.
