Outside Mine , 2019
Description :
Outside Mine explores solitude as a deliberate space for self-reflection rather than isolation. While others may search for us through our outward identity, the figure withdraws from the crowd in an attempt to understand what exists within. Positioned apart from his surroundings, he reflects the tension between how we are perceived by others and how we come to know ourselves. The work considers stepping away from external expectations as a way of constructing one’s own perspective and sense of self.
