Two in One, 2022

Information :

Two in One merges a spoon and a human hand into a single continuous form, bringing together two different ways of receiving and giving. A spoon is a designed tool, standardized and efficient, while the hand is instinctive, intimate, and deeply human. Both can perform similar acts, yet their meanings are fundamentally different. By physically joining them, the sculpture questions how tools extend, replace, and reshape the functions of the body. The contrast between polished stainless steel and carved wood reinforces this tension between the manufactured and the organic, while the hybrid form shifts ambiguously between utensil and anatomy. Two in One reflects on functionality, dependency, and adaptation, asking where the human body ends and the objects created to serve it begin.
