The Educated Hammer brings together two forms associated with different kinds of work: the hammer as a symbol of physical labor and the pencil as a symbol of education, knowledge, and intellectual development. By merging these objects into a single tool, the sculpture questions the conventional separation between working with the hand and working with the mind. A hammer is powerful only when its force is directed toward the correct point; similarly, effort alone does not necessarily produce meaningful results without knowledge, judgment, and precision. The work reflects on the relationship between working hard and working smart, proposing that education and practical skill are not opposing forms of labor but become more powerful when they operate together.
