Pal-mystery transforms the familiar lines of a palm into a spiderweb, bringing together palmistry’s promise of reading one’s future with the image of being caught in a structure that is difficult to escape. The work questions our desire to know what lies ahead and the ways predictions, expectations, and beliefs can begin to shape the very choices we make. The web suggests that the future may not simply be something waiting to be discovered, but something constructed through interconnected decisions, circumstances, and forces beyond our control. Through the wordplay of “palmistry” and “mystery,” the drawing leaves fate unresolved, asking whether we control our path or gradually become entangled in the future we imagine for ourselves.
