Surreal Heat I, 2023
Information :
Surreal Heat I merges a shirt pocket, a pencil, and a piece of burning coal into an improbable but familiar relationship. The pocket, traditionally used to carry tools of work and thought, becomes a site where intellectual and physical labor collide. While the pencil suggests ideas, education, and creative production, the coal introduces heat, pressure, and the physical realities that sustain everyday life. The absurdity of carrying something burning inside a pocket creates both humor and discomfort, reflecting how ambition and productivity often require us to carry pressures that can simultaneously fuel and consume us.
