Unzipped, 2019

Description :

Unzipped explores the tension between the identity we present to others and what remains concealed beneath it. A zipper runs across the carved human form, transforming the body into a surface that can seemingly be opened and revealing the possibility of another self within. Through this familiar functional object, the work considers concealment, performance, and the ways individuals construct different versions of themselves in response to their surroundings.
