Vaani Chakra, 2022
Description :
Vaani Chakra transforms the familiar form of a circular saw blade into a metaphor for the power of speech. At first glance, the sculpture appears sharp and potentially destructive, but closer observation reveals that each tooth has been replaced by the form of a human tongue. The transformation shifts the source of danger from a mechanical blade to language itself. Like a saw, words can be constructive or destructive: they can shape relationships and understanding, but they can also wound in ways that cannot easily be repaired. The circular form suggests repetition and consequence, as words continue to circulate beyond the moment in which they are spoken. Through this visual contradiction, Vaani-Chakra reflects on responsibility, restraint, and the lasting force of what we choose to say.
