Elastic Ground reimagines a tractor tire using elastic strips and a visible metal framework, combining elements of labor, memory, and transformation. The exposed internal structure reveals the unseen architecture of strength, suggesting both vulnerability and resilience. By leaving the frame partially uncovered, the work shifts from the functional to the conceptual, opening the form to light, air, and reinterpretation. Made from elastic produced in the artist’s father’s factory, the piece bridges inherited modes of industrial production with a more fluid artistic language. Hanging from an old metal frame, the tire becomes both an object of work and of play, a suspended form that questions where stability ends and flexibility begins.
