The Displacement, 2026
Description :
The Displacement translates the idea of displacement into three dimensions, combining fragility and force within a single form. A nest made of fine brass wires rests atop a swirling storm cast in brass, anchored on a steel pedestal and enclosed in glass. The work captures the moment where turbulence settles into structure, showing that instability can also give rise to creation. The nest represents care, belonging, and continuity, while the storm below conveys movement and uncertainty. Through the contrasting qualities of weight and delicacy, the piece reflects the artist’s ongoing exploration of tension, balance, and adaptation, transforming the forces of upheaval into a meditation on resilience and renewal.
